Understanding the Chinese Zodiac
For many who desire to understand the world around them, a fascination of the Zodiac tends to be on the top of their list of interests. Many people can easily identify with which sign of the Western Zodiac they were born under, but often are unaware of the wealth of information and insight that the Chinese Zodiac can offer. Unlike the Western zodiac, which utilizes fixed constellations and therefore a sign is determined by what month you were born; the Chinese Zodiac uses birth years. Given that there are 12 signs that are all used to correspond to different birth years, you’ll want to find out what sign you are before you consider working with a psychic who has a speciality in this.
It would take far more than a few sentences to really describe all of the characteristics and facets of each sign of the Chinese Zodiac, but here is a basic overview of the first six.
The Year of The Rat - Associated with wit, imagination and creativity, this sign is the first of the zodiac and is very different from how Westerners view rats. They tend to be energetic, charming, and bright, but can be a little aggressive.
The Year of the Ox – Appropriately, the Ox is a symbol of tolerance, dependability, determination and strength. They like to work hard for their success and don’t like to take shortcuts, making them incredibly motivated.
The Year of the Tiger – The tiger is brave, competitive, and unpredictable. They enjoy the rush of a challenge and will always protect the people they love. Because of their ferocity, they are optimists and a little self-assured.
The Year of the Rabbit – As the fourth symbol, the rabbit is the sign of sensitivity, compassion and a great passion for creativity. They love to have friends and avoid conflict, so they tend to be good mediators. They also need the love of their friends and family, because if they lack that, damage can result from it.
The Year of the Dragon – The most well-known and strongest of the signs, the Dragon is the pinnacle of ambition, dominance and strength. They are successful if they follow their own rules, they are driven to an amazing extent, but sometimes find themselves feeling a little exhausted and empty if they don’t put their passion to a valuable goal.
The Year of the Snake – The sixth sign, the snake is a symbol of intelligence, grace and logical thinking. They can also represent materialism as well, and are very capable of getting whatever it is they want, even through scheming.
